Free To Air TV English channels available in the USA
The American viewer now has an alternative source for satellite TV that does not cost any monthly subscription fee. These satellite channels are called Free to Air (FTA). These channels are not encrypted by the service provider and require no subscription or monthly payment. They are provided free of charge by the provider and are perfectly legal to receive with an FTA MPEG-2 DVB satellite system.
M-1 Motorized FTA-Choice Set:
NEW and powerful Free To Air MERCURY II satellite receiver. More receiver memory, Faster Processor, advanced Blind Search, and Component Video outputs.
Since the FTA American channels are available on several different satellites, a motorized system (i.e. M-1 ) is recommended.
In addition to the FTA American channels above, you will be able to watch literally a hundred or more foreign language FTA channels, many local and national feeds, and tens of satellite radio and music channels, free.
We don't mention the C-band channels because those require a big 10' dish. Here we will only list some of the English language Ku-band channels that are available for you and that only require a 30"-39" size dish. Since these FTA channels are spread over several satellites, a motorized dish is recommended. It will allow you to utilize one dish to track and receive channels from several satellites.

What satellite system I can use to view the above channels?
To watch the above free to air channels, you will need to buy a free to air (FTA) satellite system:
Purchase a stationary satellite system such as the S-1 system. Since most of the free to air channels are on one satellite IA5 (97W), a stationary system should be just fine. On IA5 there are over 100 free to air channels from several countries. The S-1 system is easy to setup and should not take you more than 2 hrs to get installed. If you need some installation help, check our Technical Support section.
: If you are a satellite enthusiast and want to receive more channels, then a motorized FTA satellite system like the M-1 system is a good choice for you. The difference between the M-1 and the S-1 system is that the M-1 includes a motor that allows you to move the dish East/West to track more satellites. The motorized system is little more challenging to install as it takes more accuracy to align the dish. We have prepared a help page on installing a motorized system which is a must read if you don't have experience in this.
DISCLAIMER: We don't claim or guarantee that these channels will remain free to air for any period of time. Some of these channels may go off the air at some point or become encrypted and new channels may show up. We don't know their future broadcasting plans. We are not affiliated with or resell programming from any of the channels above. The list above reflects what is available to our knowledge. One of the best pages to check all available satellite channels and their frequencies is www.lyngsat.com. If you are looking for your channels like CNN, DISCOVERY, TLC, HBO, and others, then PayTV is your choice.
Note:
The receiver's remote control will actually control the whole motorized system for you.
The motor gets its power from the same coaxial cable going to the dish, so no extra wiring is needed.
Wall mount lets you put the satellite dish on your roof or exterior wall of your house.
If you hire a professional installer, he provide enough coaxial cable to do the installation.
If Universal ULN1 0.4dB Single KU LNBF is not available in stock it will be substituted with KUL1: Sadoun Standard Linear Single Ku 0.4 dB LNBF (10750). Both LNBFs perform the same way.
Installation of the system is entirely your responsibility.
